Hello!

Here's what's trending this week in newsletters...enjoy!

This week over 8000 issues came in…
The deepest concentration in terms this week relates to the Congressional hearings about the January 6th Capitol riots.  Many of the other terms were used in multiple contexts without super strong drivers.

(Click on any of the terms to learn more about them and read newsletter issues they're in)

Newly Emerging Terms

  • Chesa Boudin...as in the District Attorney for San Francisco who was just recalled/fired
  • tariffs...various contexts, including Biden's recent two-year freeze on solar panel tariffs
  • indictment... many different uses, including more indictments for several members of the Proud Boys involved with the Jan 6th riot
  • coins... fairly generic in usage, "crypto coins" being most common

Biggest Increase in Usage from Previous Week

  • hearings (~300%)... related to the Congressional committee hearings on the Capitol Riot
  • prince (>150%)... mainly driven by mentions of princes (Louis, Charles, Harry, etc) in relation to the Queen's Jubilee and also because President Biden is planning to meet with the Saudi Crown Prince soon
  • binance (>150%)... as in the crypto exchange platform; it had two stories come out this week accusing it of wrongdoing
  • 6th (>150%)...related to the Jan 6th committee hearings

Most Used Terms

Note that these "Most Used" terms tend to be used very broadly, in lots of contexts... vs. the other "Emerging" and "Biggest Usage Increase" terms which are, as you can tell, quite narrow and likely more meaningful/interesting.
